Responsible Gaming

Before You Start

Decide the amount you are willing to spend before you begin, and treat that amount as already spent rather than as money you expect to recover. This removes the pressure to "win it back" and makes the point at which you stop a decision you made calmly, not one made in the middle of a session. Keeping gambling money separate from money set aside for bills or borrowed from elsewhere means a loss stays a loss, with no knock-on effect on the rest of your finances.

While You Play

Never chase a loss by increasing a bet or continuing past your planned amount to make up for what has already gone. Take breaks during a session rather than playing continuously, since a pause is often what makes it obvious that the entertainment value has worn off. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment and starts feeling necessary, that is the point to involve someone else, whether a friend, a family member, or one of the independent organisations listed below, and to do so early rather than after the situation has grown harder to manage.

What This Site Cannot Do

This site has no account, no form and no server-side application. Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion are things a reader sets up inside an account at an operator's own site, and nothing published on this page can switch one on, check one or enforce one. Nobody's age is verified here and no gambling takes place on this site; any check of that kind happens only at the destination a reader is redirected to. The eighteen-and-over restriction stated throughout this site, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing, is a condition for readers, not a check this site performs. There is no advertising or behavioural profiling network on these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader based on past behaviour.

Where the Real Controls Live

Each of the ten operator listings ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site. Once an operator link is followed, the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply, not anything published here.

Independent Help Organisations

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gamblinghelpline.co.nz, gamblingtherapy.org and pgf.nz. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them.
